Whatever Role is Made for Us, We Have to Play It
At this time, history is being shaped and we all have a chance to play a character. In this play, we should act as a positive character and not of a negative entity. Make every effort, observe every action cautiously and awaken this though in your heart – whatever role is made for us, we have to play it. We have to be the character in a new enigmatic story. Meaning that we have to work to play a positive part. Not even an iota of our flaws, vices, wickedness should become a hurdle on the path of devotion. Any hurdle should not dare to write our role as a bad character. So cautiously, observe your actions.
It should not happen like it happened in a graveyard in France. There is a graveyard with memorials of those brave soldiers who had played their best role in the World War. People remember them even today and pay them their tributes. Though in the same graveyard, there is a place known as E-plot. There rest those 96 soldiers who had turned traitors. This place is known as “House of Shame.” Nobody likes going there. They abhor the place. Remember, this should never happen with us in our lives. We should not be remembered with hatred. We should make efforts to play a positive role in this enigmatic story of life.
Where does a meditator get the inspiration to be a good character? We get a direct answer from Satguru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji’s own writings. Maharaj Ji exhorted that every injury can be withstood with the guard of meditation. The injury will slide away with the rising meditative strength. To every problem, every dilemma, every vice, every hurdle, if there is a solution, it is one alone – meditation and meditation. Meditation gives us strength to overcome struggle. Meditation gives us strength to develop our virtues. Meditation gives us strength for constructive works. So, always immerse yourself in meditation according to Maharaj Ji’s commandments. It is the only way that we can overcome our flaws, vices, wickedness to acquire Maharaj Ji’s grace to play the role he has assigned to us.
It is a known fact that our mind deters us from meditation, so we must go against the mind, revolt against its desires. Guru’s commandment demands sacrifice. Be it to meditate, serve, or any other work. This is why we should always be immersed in meditation. You should embrace Guru’s commandment by your heart. The ones who bake themselves in the furnace of meditation, they will surely shine like pure gold. The disciples who dive deep into meditation, they understand the real eternal relation of themselves with their Master. The disciple who does intense meditation, his voyage from “I” to “Thou” commences the journey of discipleship to merge in the Master. When a disciple walks steadily on this path, seeing his steadfastness, his emotions, Gurudev Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji himself says thus, “Remember! I have not connected you all to my feet, rather, I have connected you all to my heart!”.
Just think. The Master who has connected us to his heart, the Master who has placed us in his heart, that Master should reside in each and every cell of our body. Each and every drop of our blood should be beholden to Him. We should be ready to sacrifice ourselves for Him. We should pray that we are blessed to contribute in His mission, that we should play our best part in this world peace mission of His. Indeed, we are not capable to do anything, but we must express the desire to want to play our role to fulfill His aspirations. Even though we are not capable to contribute for any of His work, we should still have the feelings to surrender ourselves and play our part in every endeavour of the Master. The one, in spite of being incapable, but has the feeling of surrender even though one has no such expanding qualities, he beseeches the Master. What Guru Maharaji Ji says about such a meditator, we saw practically. One day, a youth was sitting at Maharaj Ji’s feet. His whole heart was filled with such feelings. Maharaj Ji was very happy and had compassion and love in his eyes. Seeing him, Maharaj Ji enthusiastically said, “If you have such feelings, such desire to walk on this path steadfastly, to do or die, remember, on this path of Truth, even if you lay down your life, the doors of Vaikuntha (Supreme abode) are open for you, and if it did not happen thus, you will be enjoying my physical presence and guidance. So, you have sweet foods in both your hands.”
As the young devotee listened to these words, he felt how compassionate and benevolent our Master is. Maharaj Ji has placed nectar in both hands of the devotee. There arose these words from the young devotee’s heart, “Maharaj Ji, you keep us alive or behead us, now this devotee lover beseech you, we are ready for whatever you will. It is victory here and there also. “Let us surrender such feelings at the feet of our Master. Let us never enter the “House of Shame”. Let us meditate to burn to ashes our flaws because it is only through meditation that our Master’s grace will descend upon us and it is by His grace that we will be able to fulfill the role that we have to play.
